BOWLS! Review & Giveaway

BOWLS eBOOK Cover As you have probably figured out, I like cookbooks and I like writing cookbook reviews – especially so when I have the chance to review a book by a blogging buddy. Today I’d like to introduce you to the fabulous world of BOWLS! by Becky Striepe of Glue and Glitter. Kel and I are big fans of meals in bowls. Endless mix-and-match possibilities, soul-satisfying, and belly-filling, we eat a bowlful of grains almost every morning and towering savory bowls several times a week. So Becky’s book spoke right to our stomachs. I think it’ll speak to your stomach, too!

Here’s the deal, I’ve got one paperback copy to give away to a U.S. winner and an e-book version to award to an overseas winner – so enter the giveaway below, no matter where you call home. Cuz everyone loves meals in bowls!

By the way, Becky put this book together and published it herself, so please show your love, support, and encouragement for the entrepreneurial spirit by purchasing a copy and/or by sharing the link to BOWLS! on your social media sites. You can pick up a copy (paperback or e-book) of BOWLS! here – and while you’re at it, snag her first e-book, the very tasty 40 Days of Green Smoothies.

Yay, what a great giveaway! At the moment life is chaotic so we splash everything we can find in the house into bowls for dinner because there’s no time to make soup. Pumpkin, gherkins, zucchini and some tahini drizzle is pretty much my standard. And of course for pudding there’s smoothie bowls 😉

Usually I’ll put a grain (quinoa, brown rice, barley, farro, or millet), some type of legume, and sautéed vegetables.

I like taking the easy way out and use brown or jasmine rice, baked tofu, and steamed veggies. I even will use a bag of mixed frozen veggies, if I’m really pressed for time. Thanks for doing the giveaway!

I eat a lot of things out of bowls, too! I usually put a big salad in my bowl with grain or beans on top to make it more filling.

Who doesn’t love a good bowl meal?! Perfect for lazy but satisfying weeknight dinners. I love greens, grains and beans plus a killer sauce in mine.
Thanks for introducing me to Becky and her blog too.

My favorite bowls are often of the “Asian” variety. I put the quotes there because that usually means that they involve a whole bunch of veggies on top of a grain with some tofu or edamame and a whooole bunch of good teriyaki sauce.

Here’s my favorite Buddha bowl: farro, steamed dino kale, roasted sweet potatoes, cannellini beans (or baked tofu) and tahini-lemon sauce on top. Yum!

These are gorgeous! I eat many, many meals in bowls! They need to start designing dishwashers with this in mind :)

White bean gravy potato and kale almost always sometimes mushroom gravy instead of white bean, this book would be right up my alley!

I love that you do so many giveaways! It’s awesome! I love bowls! They are the perfect no-fuss meal. I typically make a big batch of roasted vegetables, grains, and hummus over the weekend. For lunches during the week, I just pile on a scoop of each into a bowl. It’s the best!
